Sarah Fox is the founder of 500 Words Ltd. As a lawyer, she has spent 25 years reading, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on construction contracts from 4 to 400 pages. She rewrote the contracts for a trade association in the UK leading to a huge increase in their use by members. As a speaker and author, she is trying to shake the construction industry out of its inertia on typical contracts – which are a burden and a bore. As an innovator, Sarah introduced a 500-word contract to demonstrate what is possible. Sarah leads a steering group to reimagine how simple digital contracts can help project partners do business, a critical part of the move towards collaborative digital construction and is researching how global trends will affect the future of contracting.
